The 2018 IHE-Europe Connectathon in The Hague was a truly outstanding success. Thanks are in order to the dedication of the IHE-Services team, the expert monitors present, the organisational skills of IHE-Europe personnel, the local IHE-Netherlands organising committee, delegates and speakers at the parallel events, and most importantly all of the Connectathon attendees who endured the trails and tribulations of life on the Connectathon floor.
A few statistics:
The Eye Care domain tested, for the first time in Europe, with eight vendors, demonstrated market place interoperability with eye care images and documents exchanged in real time.
Alongside the Connectathon there were Projectathons featuring:
Swiss EPR Project – interested organisations participated in a real life scenario with comparative testing to the Swiss EPR solution. This enabled successfully approved vendors to be fully equipped for EPR field deployment.
German EFA – Elecktronische FallAkte – connecting hospitals using XDS, ATNA and XUA IHE Profiles, featured for the third consecutive year with deployment test cases employed amongst four vendors.
Eric Poiseau, Master of Monitors and IHE-Europe Technical Manager commented. “2018 was a challenging Connectathon because of the sheer numbers involved but thanks to the professionalism of the Monitor team and organising committee and the enthusiasm of the attendees it was a hugely enjoyable experience. My country colleagues in Rennes, Brittany will have a tough task given the standards set here but I am confident they and we have it under control”.
